RapTalk.Net Reviewz "The Hostile Takeover"

RapTalk.Net Reviewz "The Hostile Takeover"

1) Intro - Night Shield

This is a tight intro. D Sane from Street Level Records provides the beat and Night Shield spits a verse full of flames. Great way to start the album off.

2) "Retaliation" Triple Crown

At first I wasn’t digging the track; the beat never caught my ear. After the first minute or so the beat gets more complex and Triple Crown spits more heat, you got to love it.

3) "Infectios Game" Syko, Sarkastik

This shit knocks, Syko and Sarkastik over a fire D Sane beat. What makes this track so savage are the violins in the beat. Syko comes heated spitting bars like this, “So what’s the ramification for real artist these days, ant no lead way, you hustle in order to see pay, niggas is weak mane, I can just crush em off street slang, not knowing I’m packing nolage libraries couldn’t centime”.

4) "The Big Payback" Overflow, Mr. Dev'Yon

Overflow spits some flames on this shit. The beat is produced by Mobius which is a great connection. Definitely a slap.

5) "This Right Here" Night Shield, The NobleMen

Very unique track. The lyrics are hard and the beat is one of a kind. Great collaboration with Night Shield, Noble Men, & D Sane on the beat.

6) "Let's Get it On" Ashes, Mobius

Ashes and Mobius come pretty hard on this track. Something you’ll listen to before going to war or some shit. I never skip it.

7) "Ride With Me" Night Shield, Shayla Day

Night Shield drops a nice commercial track on us. Shayla Day sings the catchy hook and Overflow produces this slap. Ride With Me is definitely something you’ll hear on radio stations.

8) "Party Train" Overflow

This shit’s hot! The beat grabs your ears immediately. Overflow comes off pretty laid back then hits you with more flames. One of the best tracks on the album.

9) "Smell That" Mr. D.O.G.

Mr. DOG drops a banger. Big Squeeze produces this slap and Dog comes pretty heated. The only down fall on this is I have trouble understanding some of his words. He has a unique style though so it all falls in place.

10) "Too Much" Triple Crown

I don’t really feel this track. There’s not enough in the beat and Cinista Cin’atra starts the track off bad. The song breaks down better but more than likely your end up skipping it.

11) "The Phranchise" Cool Nutz, The Phranchise

LOL… this shits pretty tight. “The Phranchise, you know we stay running you hores, for the record we ant wifing none of you hores, truth is we ant liking none of you hores, test us we might put the gun to you hores, you’ll never catch phranchise bragging on hores”. The chorus is catchy off the back. The Phranchise come heated and of course Cool Nutz shoots shit.

12) "For so Long" Arjay, Bullet

If you’re an R&B person you’ll love this track. I don’t dig too much R&B shit to the women but the production and singing is quality and Bullet comes pretty smooth on this track. You’ll have to be the judge on this one.

13) "Hostile Takeover" Night Shield, 2 8 The Native, Yaiva

Me personally I don’t feel this track. The lyrics are thugging but the beat is pretty weak to me. I’ve heard better from D Sane.

14) "I'm" Sarkastik

KNOCK! Sarkastik rips this shit to fucking shreds! He spits nothing but fire on this track, D Sane provides a banger.

15) "3 Kingz" Triple Crown

This shits pretty coo. It has a hip hop feel to it that I can dig, the lyrics are hot and the scratching in the middle is fresh.

16) "Northwest Style of Flow" 2 8 The Native, Ri Ri

2 8 Tha Native laced this shit savage. The beat from JB Tha Blazed 1 is ridiculous and the singing is on Q. I always knock this one when I’m smoking a phatty.

17) "To Attack" SupaMan & Night Shield

I can’t get into this track. It’s a lil to hip hopish for me, for those who enjoy hip hop music will surely knock it though.

*Bonus Track*
"Come Fi Love" Silver Shadow D

This shits hot also! A true bonus track, you’ll just have to peep it.

OVERALL: This was a knocking compilation. Night Shield got a lot of the North West best rappers on one album with South Dakotas finest. Despite two or three tracks this album would have knocked all the way through. 2002 was filled with a lot compilations with trash, this is definitely one of the best comps. 8/10
