Night Shield is a Native American from South Dakota. There are a few Native Rappers out there, though I've never heard of any rap coming out of South Dakota. I didn't know what to expect from this CD, he's looking real thoughtful on the cover. I thought it might be some kind of spiritual music, but Night Shield is bringing nothing but hardcore gangsta shit. He's talking about heavy street action, real hard ciminalistic shit. It's 18 tracks and they're all slaps. Mr. D-Sane does alot of the tracks, and another producer named Chad Sharp. I'd say the tracks are more Crunk than Midwest, but his rapping style is more Midwest. I don't know what kinda sound is coming out of South Dakota, but this one sounds pretty good. This is one of the best CD's I've heard period. It really impressed me. - Mto-Wa Mbu
