Night Shield To Release First Album

Sioux Falls - "The Nation" a hip hop and R&B compilation album, is due to be released in May on the Night Shield Entertainment record label.

Night Shield Entertainment is the brain child of St. Francis native Gabriel Ronald Night Shield, now of Sioux Falls.

Night Shield, who will turn 22 Sunday, Feb. 25, is a son of Linda Good Buffalo and Anthony Good Buffalo, St. Francis. His brothers are Nate Night Shield, Preston Good Buffalo and Dana Good Buffalo.

A 1997 graduate of the St. Francis Indian School, Night Shield attended the Art Institute of Seattle, majoring in audio production and graduating in 1999.

"The Nation" will be executive producer Night Shield's first release. Co-Executive producers are Jagger Gestson and David Lee.

The compilation is a mixture of hard hip hop, smooth R&B with "some nice party jams" Night Shield said.

Artists featured on the album are Night Shield, Overflow, Cinista Cin'Natra, Brikyard Dereliks, Lysergik, Shay'la Day, 2 8 The Native, Redd Reign, S.C.U.M., Silver Shadow D and Psycomatic. The artists originate from Seattle WA, Charlotte NC, Rosebud SD, Philadelphia, New York, Eugene OR, Germany and Canada.

"This will be the first release for my company," Night Shield said. Two more albums are scheduled to be released later this year: "Cin'Natra Status" by Cinista Cin'Natra, tentatively in August, and "Hostile Takeover", a compilation, in December.

Night Shield's first single release, "Triple Crown" performed by Overflow, Night Shield and Cinista Cin'Natra, is available for purchase exclusively through the Internet. E-mail your order to nightshield@hotmail.com. Cost is $4.

Future plans for the enterprise include expanding to include movies, clothing and modeling ("Not me of course!") and "to keep putting out good music that people will enjoy," Night Shield said.
