A+ Records & EastSide Records present J-Trey. Straight outta Iowa this trio is made up of Skylar Johnson, J T & Jay B and with a recently released debut album "The Time Has Come" J Trey is looking to put Iowa on the hip-hop radar. The album is eclectic mix of Hip-Hop and Rock n Roll that works very well for the group. The album opens with a short intro with nice flows from the group. "Forever Rolls" follows with a nicely produced track from AngelCity2. The albums first gem comes in the form of "Some Will Come" produced by Soleternity this track is more of a rock song with a hip hop influence to it. The song is very catchy and is definitely something that I will be listening to for awhile. The group's first single from the album is "Drift Away" which is remake from Dobie Gray's song of the same title. What is sure to become an Iowa underground classic is the album's hottest song "Welcome To The I" features Bullet and a slumping beat from Big Ice. Bullet and all the members of J Trey shine over this heater. The perfect bar-room banger "Lover, Lover" is sure to keep your toes tapping and head nodding, a very catchy song that will leave you singing the chorus long after the song has ended. Overall this album is a very well put together project that is something different from the norm, it has very few missteps (Oh Shit Again) and will be a valuable addition to any CD collection. Fans of artists like Linkin Park, P.O.D. and Kid Rock I'm sure will love this album.
